An update on negotiations between the Bibsam Consortium and Wiley
The Bibsam Consortium and scientific publisher Wiley have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that lays out principles of common ground that will guide the negotiations going forward.
The memorandum states that the parties will work to model the agreement in such a way that it includes Open Access publishing with Wiley as well as reading rights to the publisher’s subscription based journals. The parties also agree to work together to accelerate the transition to immediate Open Access.
The aim is for negotiations in 2019 to result in a new agreement with a start date of January 1st 2020.
