Information and Loans Desk
The Information and Loans Desk is where you can ask questions and get help with finding and requesting material. This is also where you pick up your library card and most of the material. Welcome to the library!
The National Library collections are extensive and not always easy to navigate. Therefore, we are happy to help you find exactly what you are looking for. We will guide you through our search services and catalogues and, of course, answer any other questions you may have about the library.
Public computers and scanners
To the left of the service desk there are public computers that you can use. Please note that these do not have word processing software or USB ports.
Here you will also find book scanners where you can copy material yourself. Read more about how this works on the page Copying and photographing material.
For larger reproductions, you can use the National Library's reproduction services.
On the bookshelves
On the shelves next to the Information and Loans Desk you will find parts of our reference library and the most recently purchased foreign literature. Here you can pick up the book you want to borrow yourself. The foreign literature can also be borrowed to take home. Feel free to use our lending machine for borrowing and returning books!
Where are the rest of the collections?
Most of our material is not displayed on shelves but has to be requested from our stacks.
