Computers for audiovisual media
On floor 2, two floors down in the Annex, there are computers specifically designated for viewing our audiovisual collections.
The seats are free, and if you have a library card at the National Library of Sweden, you can easily access broadcast and published material that is available digitally in the Swedish Media Database (SMDB). In some cases, you also need a user account in the SMDB to access the material. The requirement for such an account is that you have a research-related assignment.
Information Desk
At the Audiovisual Media Information Desk, you can get assistance with searching and placing orders in the SMDB. The desk is located next to the computers on floor 2. Check the opening hours to see when the desk is staffed. You are always welcome to use the computers during the National Library’s regular opening hours.
What is in the Swedish Media Database?

- Selected local television and radio broadcasts (community radio, commercial radio and cable television).
- Films shown in cinemas in Sweden.

- Swedish sound recordings, that is, music and audio recordings.
- Swedish computer games and interactive media.
