Regina
Regina is an integrated search service for the National library's printed material and a number of external databases.
In Regina you can search for books, journals, articles and other publications to which the National library has access. You will find both printed and digitised material from the National library's own collections. But you will also find electronic resources that the we subscribe to or that are openly available on the internet.
In the service you can see if the National library's material is available or if it is on loan. You can also register as a new borrower, queue for borrowed material and renew your loans.
How to use Regina

To order and borrow materials, you need a library card. You apply for one in Regina under "Sign in" in the top menu. Once you have sent your application, you can pick up your card at the library.
You must be over 18 years old and be able to show a valid photo ID.

You can quickly search for any word in the field on the home page. Click on the "Advanced search" option to open the possibility to search in several fields at once.
There are options for title, author and ISBN, for example. If you want to add more fields, select "Add a new line".
If you want to do even more advanced searches, you can go to the "Help" tab in the top menu. There you will find information on how to further refine your search.

Once you have found what you are looking for, you can log in and place an order via the "Sign in" button. You log in using your library card number or the temporary code you provided when registering.
It is a good idea to place an order before you visit the library. We only pick up material at certain times. Read more about accessing the collections.

Regina contains lots of sources that you can access from home. If you see the "Open access" button or the "Full text available" link, you know that the material is completely free to download.
Once you have performed a search, you can also filter your search results to free material only. Use the "Full Text Online" and "Open Access" checkboxes under the right-hand menu "Availability".
