KB Play offers a glimpse into the National Library's extensive audiovisual collections. Here, you can watch 150 films about Sápmi, along with a selection of films from Dag Hammarskjöld’s collection.

KB Play is the National Library’s streaming service. It provides access to films from the library’s collections, as well as lectures, training courses, and informational videos for professionals in the library and research sector.

Sápmi on Film

The service features 150 films organized by five Sámi language regions. It includes a selection of newsreels, documentaries, and home movies depicting Sámi life and history from the perspective of the majority society, spanning from the early 20th century to the 1980s. Films from the Dag Hammarskjöld Collection

The eleven films depict Dag Hammarskjöld’s life and work as Secretary-General of the UN. This includes, among other things, films from the period surrounding the controversial plane crash in 1961 in which Dag Hammarskjöld was killed.
