Find and read newspapers
You can read newspapers without ordering in advance in the Newspaper Reading Room, at the bottom floor of the Annex. You do not even need a library card!
How it works
- The digitised newspapers are displayed via Svenska dagstidningar Svenska tidningar (Swedish Newspapers)
External link, opens in new window.. You can search from home, but to get full access to the content you need to be at one of the National Library's computers or at one of the other libraries in Sweden that have the service.

- Newspapers older than 100 years can also be viewed from home.
- The newspapers that are not digitised are on microfilm. They are displayed on open shelves in the Newspaper Reading Room. You pick out what you want to look at and load one of the microfilm machines.
- Newspapers printed up to 1850 must be ordered in advance.
