Containing more than a half million postcards, the National Library collection is the largest in Sweden, covering everything from city scenes to pictures of the Salvation Army.

The bulk of the collection comprises topographical postcards from cities and towns in Sweden, but quite a few are of foreign locales. There are also holiday and congratulatory cards designed by Swedish artists like Jenny Nyström and Carl Larsson.

The library also owns the Calegi (a postcard publisher) collection of about 33,000 glass plate negaties and photographs, along with large collections from two other publishers, Grafisk konst and Nordisk konst, along with 355 postcard albums.
