Changes in our English website

The site has a new design and navigation system. It has been developed according to the same standards as the Swedish website.

Here is a brief description of the new website, which will help you to find information:

  • You will find various helpful links and the search function in the side heading
  • In the side footer you will find links to contact information
  • The start page presents news and information about events. You can also search our online catalog, Regina
  • The main information categories are found in the gray horizontal field
  • Clicking on a main category will take you to its index page, and the subcategories will be displayed simultaneously in the left-hand menu
  • Arrows in the left-hand menu indicate that there are subcategories. Each level has its own color and opens out beneath the level above
  • The breadcrumbs make it easier to know where you are in the structure. These are clickable, so that you can use them as shortcuts to higher levels
  • The long pages have a table of contents that enables you to quickly obtain an overview of the page contents, and you can click down into the contents using the links.

More about the site

Modified content

The English-language section of the website has never simply been a mirror of the Swedish. In developing the new English site, strategic decisions have been made in terms of both communication goals and target groups. These choices have guided the website's new content and the ways in which the information has been structured.

The new content added last year includes one of the National Library's most famous works, the so-called Devil's Bible or Codex Gigas, which is digitized.

The new website focuses on the users, and is intended to be available to everyone. The site has been designed based on standards that will ensure that it meets our requirements in terms of high availability, so that no users will be left out because of functional disabilities or computer capacity. Your can adjust the website according to your own preferences.

Design and layout

A consistent graphical appearance and uniform presentation logic help make it easier for users to find the information and services they are looking for.

Search function

A search function that can always be reached via the side heading is available to search for pages or documents on the site. Users are aided in their searches by functions such as automatic spelling correction, synonyms and the ability to limit searches.

To search for books or other materials, you can search in our online catalog Regina, which has been integrated into the website.

Subscriptions and RSS

You can subscribe to updated information via both the subscription function and RSS.
