Reproduction Services

Many of the items from the collections of the National Library may be copied or photographed unassisted. Our Reproduction Services may also help you with anything from ordinary photocopies to photographic reproductions and digital image files.

Self-service copying

On the ground floor there are three book scanners dedicated to copying any material which you have borrowed from the Information and Loans Desk, or material shelved in the reference collection.

You may either print the documents or save them as files on your own USB-stick.

Material meant to be read in the Special Reading Room cannot be scanned on the ground floor.

Reproduction Services

To order reproductions please use the form Order copies. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the library personnel at info@kb.se. You may also speak directly to the staff at the Information and Loans Desk.

  • In order to make photocopies you need to have a pre-loaded card which you can purchase at the Information and Loans Desk. Each copy costs 2 SEK. The card may also be used for photocopying in the News Reading Room. Saving files on your own USB stick is free of charge.

    • You have sole responsibility for how your copies or photographs are used and that their usage is in accordance with current copyright law.
    • Please make sure not to disturb other visitors, e.g. by using a flash.

  • Reproductions can be collected at the Information and Loans Desk, or sent by post or email.

The National Library uses a web courier, Storegate, for delivering advanced high-resolution digital files via email. This means that you are sent an email containing a link for downloading a file.

  • If a book is out of copyright, you may order a digitisation of the complete work directly from the catalogue post in any of the two library catalogues Regina and Libris. This is called EOD.

When a book is digitised with EOD, each page is scanned individually. After payment with credit card it is then delivered as an OCR-coded pdf-file.

Digitisation using EOD costs 100 SEK as a starting fee, followed by 3 SEK per every additional page. Afterwards these digitised works are saved by the National Library, and are made freely available for everyone to access and download from the library catalogues.
