General terms and conditions of purchase

By ordering from the National Library of Sweden, you accept the following terms and conditions of purchase.

General information

To make purchases from the National Library of Sweden, you must be at least 18 years of age or otherwise have the consent of a guardian. Orders made in the name of another person without their consent, or in a manner which entails that we incur damage of a financial or other nature, shall be reported to the police. We endeavour to provide as fair and informative depictions of our products as possible, but we cannot be held responsible for misprints, inaccurate information or errors in specifications. This applies to all of our products and services. All images on our website should be seen as illustrations; we cannot guarantee that an image is an exact representation of the product itself.

Prices

All prices of products at the National Library of Sweden are given in Swedish Kronor (SEK) and include VAT. Prices for courses and conferences may also be given excluding VAT and in other currencies. Reproduction services are exempt from VAT. In the event of price changes, the price applicable at the time of the customer’s order applies.

Shipping cost

The shipping cost when ordering products in the shop is normally SEK 35. The cost may be higher for larger packages. Customers will be informed of this before delivery. For the shipping of reproduced material, first class postage charges are applied. Customs charges for countries outside the EU may be incurred.

Payment methods

We accept card payments online (Visa and Mastercard), direct bank payments (Nordea) and invoicing.

Invoices are written in amounts of SEK. When making an invoice payment, the payment must be made within 30 days of the invoicing date.

In the event of a delayed payment, the Customer is charged penalty interest of two (2) % per month from the invoice due date. If a payment is not made, the case will be handed over for debt collection, whereby the statutory debt collection fee, presently SEK 180, will be charged.

Order confirmation

An automatic order confirmation is sent to the e-mail address provided when ordering/making payment. The order number on this confirmation must always be specified when contacting us regarding your order.

Date of delivery

The National Library of Sweden handles orders of products in the shop continuously, and under normal circumstances your order will be sent within 3-5 working days. Should a product be temporarily out of stock, you will be informed of this and given the option to either wait for the product or cancel your purchase. The National Library of Sweden cannot be held responsible for delays caused by the postal services or shipping companies. With regard to courses and conferences, the date of delivery is the date on which the course/conference is held. Reproductions can normally be delivered within 5-14 working days, depending on the size of the job and the workload. For larger orders, the date of delivery is determined by an agreement.

Unclaimed packages

We reserve the right to charge SEK 180 for unclaimed packages/goods in order to cover the shipping and handling costs. The payment must be made within 30 days of the invoicing date.

Claims

If goods are received damaged or a reproduction is inaccurate, please contact us no later than 14 days after delivery. We check all products/services prior to delivery. A detailed description must be sent to the National Library of Sweden, preferably with pictures. Remember to include your name, telephone number and order number. Damage incurred during shipping must be reported to the post office where the goods were collected.

Right of cancellation/Open purchase/Right to exchange

You have the right to cancel your purchase or exchange your product within a period of 14 days after receiving your package. You should always contact us before returning your product, specifying which product the matter concerns. The purchaser is responsible for return shipping in the event of a cancellation or exchange, and the goods and packaging must be in their original condition in all material aspects.

With regards to courses and conferences, registration is binding, and after the final date of registration the full fee is charged in the event of non-attendance. A stand-in may be sent. If a cancellation is made before the final date of registration, the entire amount will be refunded.

Reproductions are not covered by the right of cancellation once work on the order has commenced.

Dispute

Swedish law applies in the event of a dispute. The dispute shall be settled in a Swedish general court.

Personal data

The National Library of Sweden collects and processes personal data. The National Library of Sweden needs to process this data in order to fulfil obligations in accordance with the contract with the purchaser. The personal data processed by the National Library of Sweden on the basis of your order includes your name, address, personal identity number and telephone number. The data is only used in our customer register to facilitate the contact between us and the customer.

The National Library of Sweden protects your customer data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). More information about how the National Library of Sweden processes personal data and the rights of the data subject can be found on the page Dataskydd (in Swedish).

Under certain circumstances a data subject has

  • the right to be informed.
  • the right of access.
  • the right to rectification.
  • the right to erasure.
  • the right to restrict processing.
  • the right to data portability.
  • the right to object to processing.
  • the rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

Anyone wishing to receive information on the personal data registered with the National Library of Sweden can request this in writing from us.

You can lodge a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority/Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten.
