Requests

You may request materials in our library system Regina, on paper forms, or via e-mail, fax, or letter.

Most of our holdings are stored in closed stacks underground, so you must request the materials you want to study.

Requests via Regina

Most of our holdings are found in our library catalog. If you have a library card, you may request up to seven volumes in Regina. Once you have picked up the first seven, you may request an additional seven.

You must request material before noon for retrieval the same day. Requested materials are held in Circulation for seven days. Talk to an employee at the Information and Circulation Desk if you need help with requests and searches, or read more about the Retrieval Schedule.

Materials That Cannot be Requested in Regina

Some National Library materials may have “Manual Request” status or are not included in Regina. To request these materials, you must visit the library in person and fill out a request form at the Information and Circulation Desk.

You may search for the material in our Card Catalogs. Employees at the Information Desk can assist you. Pick up your requests at the Information and Circulation Desk. You must request material before noon - even when you hand in the request at the library - for same-day retrieval.
